"Painting from the Heart"
April 15-17, 2023
Ann Arbor, MI
What makes a painting memorable? What makes you want to enter, explore and never leave that two-dimensional surface? Why does it touch your heart? Using a series of freeing exercises, we will delve into this idea. Learn to create a dialogue with the painting. Your memory is your greatest asset as it unlocks the door to your personal vision.
This pastel workshop will include daily demonstrations, personal advice at your easel, and an abundance of artistic discussion.
American landscape painter, Loriann Signori, received her BFA from Swain School or Design and MFA, under full fellowship, at American University. While her preferred mediums have always been oil or pastel, her methods, techniques, and aesthetic aims have all undergone significant transformations since she first began. Her paintings, situated between abstraction and recognizable form, are explorations into the color of air and beauty.
